Pandemic summary: Public worship was suspended by the Diocese on March 12th, 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We re-opened for in-person worship on Sunday, July 12th, 2020 and enjoyed three Sundays together before rising numbers in Maryland caused the Diocese to re-suspend indoor worship. As numbers settled in Maryland, were given permission to reopen, and once again celebrated in person worship between September 13th and November 8th, 2020 in accordance with the guidance from the Diocese of Maryland’s ORANGE PHASE, and according to their Covenant for Regathering. On November 9th, 2020 public worship was suspended once more; on March 7th, 2021 Episcopal Churches began to reopen, and Saint John’s reopened on March 21st, 2021. On April 21st, 2021, we welcomed our new part-time Priest in Charge, the Rev’d Dr Neil O’Farrell. On Sunday, June 20th, 2021, we moved into the Diocese’s YELLOW PHASE and began singing hymns and service music again.

Every year the ladies of Saint John’s Choir (past and present) have sung selections from Britten’s a Ceremony of Carols for Epiphany/Twelfth Night; while the concert is virtual this year, the beautiful music is still available:
Please enjoy a beautiful Christmas eucharist with special music by Julia McCabe and Tom Hetrick!
